Robert W. Baron, BA
Robert Baron has enjoyed a varied career in business that has taught him the individual and collective components of executive management. His successes in the numerous fields in which he has been employed, have immersed him in a constant state of evolution and enabled him to transfer lessons learned in one discipline and apply them to others. The result is a well developed skill set fired with curiosity and the drive to achieve ever more challenging goals. Robert is an Economist by training (York University) with an extensive business background. He has also been trained as an accountant (CA and CMA), Project Manager and Data-Processing and Communications Analyst. His career is an amalgam of finance, data-processing, communications, sales and marketing. The first eighteen years of Mr. Baron's career were spent in progressively more senior positions within the financial and technology areas of the Canadian Banking industry. He left banking to become Chief Operating Officer of a data-processing service bureau and then enjoyed a number of successful years in technology solutions sales and leasing. In 1992, recognising the importance of emerging database technologies, Mr. Baron was instrumental in establishing Chrispen-Roberts, a direct marketing and marketing research consulting company. Robert has directed and led projects as diverse as the development of a drug trial monitoring system for one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world and the development and management of massive marketing databases for world-class companies in the packaged goods and sports/entertainment sectors. Robert is also actively involved in his community, coaching age-group hockey and for the last two years was the president of Canada's oldest continuously operating community association, representing over 10,000 residents. He lives in Toronto with his wife. |
